During May the season of Easter draws to a close as we move into a new season on the Christian calendar marked by the Day of Pentecost, on Sunday May 24th. We recognise this day in history as the birth of the church and the coming of God to us in a new way through the Holy Spirit.

Celebrating Something Deadly…

As a community who values passionate justice, may we take time to reflect on this following the celebrations of NAIDOC Week and may we commit ourselves to walking together into the future in reconciliation, love and justice so that we can be deadly together.

We Are Many...

In recent years leaders around the world have made statements based on fear and ‘othering’ to misguide people around immigration, refugees and the presence of various cultures within their societies. Unfortunately, this kind of misinformation and fear-based rhetoric has surfaced here in Australia causing pain, confusion and ultimately the spreading of lies. As an ordained Uniting Church in Australia minister I stand with people around our country who are at this time finding the language of politicians, leaders and the media hurtful and untruthful.

Eternal Life Starts Now

When we think about eternal life why do we always jump to life after death or heaven. What if we reconsider eternal life as more about quality of life than a quantity...a life that starts now in God's presence.

Cultivate the Capacity To Love

In the midst of all that shocks, horrifies and overwhelms us, we can forget the deeper work we are called to: cultivating the capacity to love.
