Getting Married with Bangalow Byron Bay Uniting Church
We would be honoured to help you celebrate your wedding.
As part of the Uniting Church in Australia, we offer Christian wedding ceremonies conducted according to the rites of the Uniting Church.
We are delighted to celebrate weddings for couples regardless of gender or sexual identity.
You do not need to be a member of our church, or even identify as Christian, to enquire about a wedding with us.
Wedding Locations
Ceremonies can be held:
- at our Bangalow Church (heritage timber church with stained glass windows)
- at our Byron Bay Church (larger modern church space)
- at approved off-site locations around Byron Shire
Please note that outdoor weddings can be beautiful, but weather in our subtropical region can be unpredictable.
Our Process
After an initial conversation to determine whether a Uniting Church wedding is the right fit, we will:
- confirm venue and minister availability
- complete required legal paperwork
- plan your ceremony together
- arrange a rehearsal prior to the wedding
Our services include required Christian elements, while still allowing flexibility to reflect your story and personality as a couple.
We also encourage couples to undertake some form of pre-marriage preparation or counselling.
Rev. Phil Dokmanovic is a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator and can offer this as part of your preparation.
Wedding Fees
Off-site wedding ceremony – $500
Includes ceremony, rehearsal, meetings, preparation, and legal paperwork.
Wedding at Bangalow or Byron Bay Church – $600
Includes church venue, existing furniture, cleaning, rehearsal, meetings, preparation, and legal paperwork.
Wedding at Bangalow or Byron Bay Church with another minister – $500
